Theory and Practical test booking scams

Posted: 3 February 2012

When it comes time to book either your theory test or your practical test, it’s important you don’t fall for one of the many scams that are out there to rip you off. If you Google “UK theory test” or “UK driving test” or similar, you will be presented with many firms offering to book your test for you. Many of them will do this but will charge a sizeable fee to do so. Some may even take your money and leave you with nothing at all!

You should not pay any more than the appropriate official test fee. (Currently £31 theory and £62 practical). When booking through the official site you get to pick a day and time that suits you, you do not have to wait to be told your test time. Follow these links to the official DSA test booking sites. Theory test or Practical test. If you have any doubts I will be more than happy to book either test on your behalf with no additional fee charged.

The website “Money saving Expert” has recently published an interesting article on how young drivers can drastically reduce their premiums without falling foul of the various laws surrounding Motor Insurance. Theory test is changing (again)!

Posted: 24 January 2012

The DSA has announced that from Monday 23rd Jan the theory test has changed and you will no longer be able to purely learn the answers to the questions by memorizing them. If you have a good understanding of the subject you will still be able to pass but the way the questions are presented to you will be different compared to the current “learning media” i.e. CD Roms etc. Read their press release here.
